William Marske
President of Associated Claim Service, Inc.
General Adjuster / Appraiser
Prior to joining Associated Claim Service, Inc., Bill spent 4 years serving in the United States Marine Corps. He began his career with Associated Claim Service, Inc. in March 2001, after completing his training at Fox Valley Technical College. Bill was promoted to general manager in 2010, and later became majority shareholder and President of the corporation in 2015.
With over two decades of continuous field experience adjusting first and third-party property claims, and nearly a decade of servant leadership as the President of Associated Claim Service, Inc., Bill is passionate about using his experience and expertise as an independent adjuster to provide quality services to the clients, empathy to the insured, and leadership and growth to his team. In the past few years Bill has been selected to serve over 100 times as appraiser or umpire when the appraisal clause is invoked.
Associated Claim Service, Inc. is proud to be a long-time member of the National Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters (NAIIA), and Bill is proud to serve as a board member of the Wisconsin Fire Loss Association since 2014. In his personal time, Bill enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters in the great outdoors. Some of his hobbies include hunting, boating, and running.
Jim Pohlman
Vice President of Associated Claim Service, Inc.
Senior Liability and Casualty Specialist
Jim graduated from the University of Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. He started his professional journey with AAA Insurance in Las Vegas, Nevada, as a multi-line field adjuster. After returning to Wisconsin, Jim worked for General Casualty Insurance (QBE), and was part of a team of litigation adjusters at Ameriprise Auto and Home Insurance Company. He joined Associated Claim Service in 2007, and, in 2018, Jim was elected Vice-President of the corporation and is a shareholder.
Jim’s passion is providing high-quality claims investigation. He is an expert at managing field investigations involving injury, disfigurement, and wrongful death. Jim also coordinates emergency response accident investigations and assists with the oversite of accident reconstructions and evidence preservation. With his wide range of experience, Jim has a strong understanding of insurance defenses and immunities, and he works closely with defense attorneys throughout Wisconsin.
While Jim’s clients know he is devoted to them, he tries his best to adapt a healthy work-life balance. He is a devoted husband and enjoys spending time with his wife, family, friends, and the family dogs and cat. Jim enjoys attending sporting events and all outdoor activities, especially hunting and golfing with friends. He is a member on several Church boards and volunteers regularly at his Church.
Mark Neerdaels
Shareholder of Associated Claim Service, Inc.
Senior Property and Heavy Equipment Adjuster
Mark Neerdaels joined the Associated Claim Service team in November 1999. He is a resident multi-line adjuster working from his home in Green Bay with a territory primarily in northeastern and northern Wisconsin. Mr. Neerdaels is a shareholder in the company.
Mr. Neerdaels specializes in property losses to include residential, commercial and farm. He also is a talented heavy truck /specialty vehicle/ equipment appraiser.
Mark worked in the automotive/custom industry for many years prior. He is a graduate and was also a part-time Auto Collision instructor for Northeast Wisconsin Technical College of Green Bay. Mark is ASE and I-CAR certified, and he also served as the Vice-President for the Bay Auto Body Association and District Chairperson for I-CAR. He currently serves on the NWTC Advisory Committee and is a member of the WI Fire Loss Association and the National Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters (NAIIA)..
His hobbies include spending time with his family, building custom vehicles and traveling to car shows.
Jake Mangen
Senior Property Adjuster
Prior to coming to Associated Claim Service, Inc. in August of 2015, Jake’s past experience was in many levels of the restoration industry from administrative assistant/carpenters’ helper to operations manager of a local Fox Valley firm. He also worked part-time doing catastrophe claims work as an independent adjuster and retail sales. He has experience in the construction and restoration industry with both Xactimate and Symbility software, which is needed as a property adjuster and appraiser in the insurance industry.
Peter Hintz
Property Adjuster
Pete came to Associated Claim Service, Inc. with 9 years of restoration industry experience, 3 years of project management/ estimation experience and 6 years of senior project management/estimation experience managing multimillion dollar projects. He also comes with experience as a large loss consultant for multiple insurance companies. Pete is IICRC Certified: WRT (Water Damage Restoration Technician) and FSRT (Fire and Smoke Restoration Technician). In his spare time, Pete enjoys fishing, hunting, boating and spending time with his family and friends.
Steve Boyd
1099 Independent Claims Adjuster
Steve has been with Associated Claim Service, Inc. since 2019, and has been an independent property adjuster since 1999, having started his career prior to that as an in-house adjuster in 1997. He has a strong background in construction, both as a general contractor and tradesmen, and has been an estimator since his service as a builder with the Navy Seabees, starting in 1986. Steve handles commercial, residential, and agricultural claims, specializing in large losses, water damage, and storm damage. He has owned his own adjusting firm and managed property claim divisions in other regional companies as well. Steve is dedicated to his family: wife, and 3 sons, and is very active in the community. When he's not spending time with family, he is an avid adventurer and enjoys fishing, hunting, hiking, and adventure motorcycle riding in the backcountry around the United States. He is a dedicated team member, meets challenges head on, and prides himself on his attention to detail.
Gabriel Wertz
1099 Independent Claims Adjuster
Gabe brings over twelve years’ of experience in field investigation and estimating as a project manager in the restoration industry, and more than six years of successfully handling property claims as an independent adjuster. His exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills have demonstrated excellence in working both individually and in a team environment. He is a lifelong learner, combining extraordinary attention to detail and customer service skills with a passion for delivering quality to the organization and the customer.
Gabe’s key competencies include being a licensed property & casualty adjuster/IICRC-certified Fire, Water, & Smoke/high level of Xactimate competency/FAA-certified commercial drone pilot/HAAG-certified commercial & residential roof inspector.
Heather Bakken
Administrative Assistant
Heather joined the Associated Claim Service, Inc. team in 2008. Even though her education, training, and experience was mainly in medical transcription and medical coding, she thoroughly enjoys working in the insurance industry. She is a huge Disney geek, and when she’s not working, she and her husband love to travel.
Jessie Kelley
Administrative Assistant
Jessie has been with Associated Claim Service for the past 17 years as part of the administrative team. She is passionate about her work and strives every day to learn something new. Jessie loves spending time with her family and friends, especially her two children. During the summer, she spends a lot of time up north at the family cabin and has a favorite vacation spot in Scottsdale, AZ in the winter. In her spare time, she enjoys music, movies, and baking.
Heather Schmitz
Office Manager
Heather came to Associated Claim Service in November of 2023, having worked as a Servant Leader at various levels for larger corporations in the Fox Valley area. Her experience in industries such as finance, logistics and staffing gives her all the tools that she needs to be able to manage the bookkeeping, HR and marketing sides of the business, support the adjusters to do their work more efficiently and guide the administrative team.
Heather loves spending time with her chosen "tribe:" her husband and his two children, her sister, her best friend, and her 3 cats. She enjoys music, reading and art and is passionate about people. She is deliberate in understanding people at their level and spreading kindness wherever possible.
